The Bubble Perception
Taking things personally limits you. It reduces our bubble of perception, and it starts becoming a blame game. We need to take a step back and remember that we’re all human beings and we’re all just trying to have this life experience together. We create our environment. Granted, there are some people out there that are decidedly one way, but for the most part, most people aren’t. If we’re gracious and bigger picture minded, then that’s the way others are toward them. I call this the bubble perception.
You can’t harbor negative feelings for if you do, that’s going to trigger some negative outcomes. In the moment of my boss yelling at me, I had a choice, I can either be the effect of this or I can reach up and manage this thing from above and become more of the cause. Your outcome is ultimately up to you. Even if you feel like you are taking things personally, if you have the bigger picture in mind, you’re able to get the other person to see it as well.
We trigger this in other people. It’s almost like a contest of will, to see who’s going to submit to who’s picture. Two people in the same conversation will eventually take on one or the other or will meet in the middle, but the two different perceptions cannot coexist between the two people if they’re in the same conversation. This creates a bit of a tug-of-war with a lot of people. But I believe you can get to a point in life, that you can become decidedly on the right side of this the empowered side of this. And yeah, other people will still impact you, and you will still take things personally, but you will be so deeply grounded in the bigger picture that you’re able to snap yourself out of it pretty quickly.
The person that feels good about themselves tends to be uplifting around other people. Choose what to focus on; sure there’s plenty wrong with me, but what’s right is my value. And to the degree that I can value myself, is to the degree that I can value others. This allows you to rise into a much more positive emotional state.

Unbeaten Documentary Reviews
Unbeaten, a documentary from Steven C. Barber and Tamara Henry, award-winning filmmakers, is a story that follows 31 paraplegics as they make their way through the toughest six day road race in the world for wheelchairs and handcycles. The 267 mile course runs through the mountains of Denali National Park, Alaska. With a midway transition, filmmakers follow two elite racers, Oscar ‘Oz” Sanchez and Alejandro Albor, in their pursuit of the gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. The following is a collection of spoken reviews about the documentary.
“Steven Barber did a remarkable job of following these paraplegic athletes for six days as they took on what is called the most difficult race in the world. It’s Sadler’s Alaska Challenge, and the athletes are nothing short of remarkable. They’re passionate; they get exhausted, they get exhilarated. It’s a wonderful and incredible journey for them going up to Alaska, their training prior to Alaska, and then after Alaska, following two athletes in particular, as they go to Beijing for the Paralympics games. Oz Sanchez wins the gold medal, and Alejandro Arbor wins the bronze medal in the hand cycling competition.”
“I was just blown away. I thought I was going to see a little 30 minute, you know, inspirational movie. Well I looked, and it was an hour and a half later, and I had just been so completely taken by the whole thing. It was absolutely such a testimony to the human spirit, to what we can accomplish. The athletes were just amazing, and they were amazing because they were just people and it showed that. And the professionalism, the way it was done, was just so awesome. Absolutely wonderful, I want to send it to everyone I know.”
“It was inspiring, absolutely inspiring, what the human spirit, the human mind, is to this day. It still baffles me how incredible we can rise to our occasions.”
“The documentary was so moving for me on so many different levels. I went through crying and laughter and feeling such deep emotion about the trials and tribulations that these people went through.”
“Unbeaten was amazing! It’s interesting to see not just that the triumphs overcoming their physical universities in life but also how along with going for that goal life still has its challenges along the way as well and how to overcome all those hurdles together and make it to the very end to still reach your goal and always keep that in your sight. It was just amazing and very inspirational for me. It was incredible.”

Oscar “Oz” Sanchez, The Heart of a Champion
Oscar “Oz” Sanchez has the heart of a champion. What does it take to have the heart of a champion? Know your competition, be prepared, do your homework, do your best, never give up… never give up… never give up.
[…] I hope for some of you, [this documentary] will redefine what it means to have the heart of a champion. And give you all the opportunity to maybe do some self-reflection about how these gentlemen […] were thrust into a position that they didn’t expect, but they responded in a way in which the results are nothing short of miraculous, and very inspiring.

“This whole project was actually just sort of something that evolved, and I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time that I in being one of the cast members if you will but I honestly had, you know, a lot of personal emotions involved with the movie. I hadn’t seen it myself, but I find myself just really going back to to an arena that I hadn’t really been at a while because, you know, and going back and watching especially that Beijing footage, the whole experience to me was surreal. So you’ve seen it on the film, brings back memories that and emotions that I didn’t even acknowledge at the time because everything was just happening so crazy and fast and you know watching it on film just really sort of gives you different spin on it.
Parts of the movie, Alejandro was [breaking down]. He was a very, very close to dear friend of mine and I dealt with a lot of different issues emotionally as a result of what his goals and what he suffered through and invested to get to that objective which he didn’t achieve and in the end he congratulated me and I still to this day sort of deal with mixed emotions about it but it was a passing the torch no doubt and in the end we both became better people as a result of it you know we’re in contact still and I love him to death.
What I like to believe is that we take away something from every experience in life, and when you got a situation where basically a film that you’re apart of or a project you’re apart of, you take a vested interest to learn your audience. If than ever you get a chance to stand in front of them and represent yourself so I did that and I walked away with a lot more than I expected from all these, you know, very inspirational aspects of life. And really had no idea or concept of what [Shane Krider and his company] stood for and they’re in the hole like, whoa, there is all this enthusiasm, all this energy, all these good objectives or missions, and it makes me want to be a part of it, no doubt.” -Oscar “Oz” Sanchez
